Many thanks to Schumacher-Kish for sponsoring this summer's team!

Welcome

Welcome to my website where each summer I host info about some of my favorite players.  All of the young ball players featured on this site are future Hall-of-Famers!  Be sure to tell your teammates, family and friends about this site and to check back occasionally as we progress thru the season.  Weekly announcements will be posted along with season pictures.  Yes, baseball is a tough sport enduring the heat of the summer months, but we love it.  After all, it's America's game!

Don't ever hesitate to call a coach if you have any questions!

Announcements

Thank you to Coach Gittens, all the parents and players for a great summer!  It's been my privilege to work with all of you. I hope you had half the fun I did. Our final record was 13-4 and 0-2 in tournament play. Congrats to the players for the following awards.  Be proud of your accomplishments and always remember the summer of 2002!

- Chris Horn - Ted Williams Award (sportsman, humanitarian & team player)
- Kyle Blank - Iron Man (takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin')
- Adrian Dahl Polodna - Hank Aaron Award (home run slugger)
- Connor Malone - Mr. Clutch (good defense with a glove)
- Tanner Ladsten - Mr. Hustle (great attitude, always positive)
- Trevor Lassig - Rookie of the Year (most improved, positive attitude)
- Hunter Atchison - Rolaids Relief Man of the Year (best relief pitcher)
- Adam Rogich - Mr. Utility (played 7 of 10 positions)
- Jordan Gittens - Golden Glove (awesome defensive player, heads-up)
- Evan Friedl - Silver Slugger (consistent hitter, many RBIs)
- Brett Hogan - Cy Young (best all around pitcher)

The flyer for the end of the year potluck is done.  Click here to download a copy.  Copies have been distributed to all players.  Our potluck will follow our final game of the season against La Crescent Commodore.

Pictures from last week's game against La Crosse Youth Culvers have been posted on the site.

Results of each game and the final scores have been added to the schedule page.

Pictures from the La Crescent Tournament are now available. Congratulations to La Crescent Commodore for winning the championship.  Thank you to all the parents and board members who volunteered to work the concession stand and clean up the fields.  Youth baseball wouldn't be possible without your help!

Remember, great players are made off the field. Play catch, hit the ball around, and workout between games and practices.  You can make incredible progress practicing 10-15 minutes per day!  Use the Links page of this site for sample drills you can work on with friends, neighbors, brothers, sisters, parents and even grandparents.  Share your love of the game!

Represent your team well both on AND off the field! Be proud you are privileged to be a ballplayer representing La Crescent and Schumacher-Kish!

BTW - The Twins rule and the Brewers stink ;-)
